Larch has always been considered a healing tree. Its resin was always transformed following the South Tyrolean tradition into a balm used to make the skin soft and elastic.
Moreover, the liquid resin is known for its antiseptic effect and it is used in case of rheumatic ailments, boils, neuralgia or phlegm.
The two main components of the product, liquid larch resin and beeswax, are very precious raw materials and their availability in nature is limited by uncontrollable factors.
For this reason, the availability of Larch Resin Balsam is not always guaranteed.
We keep extracting larch resin in the same old way, handed down through generations.
South Tyrolean Forest Guard is very strict about the rules for extraction, especially in regards of the age of the tree, which must fall within a very precise range.
Larch is the only conifer in the world that changes colour and loses its needles in autumn.
In early spring, after the long winter, it forms strong and new needles.
Therefore, this tree is a prime example of the enormous transformative power often mentioned by Paracelsus.
